Nigel started his career in financial services in 1989, working for a large national insurance company. He qualified as a financial adviser in 1996, eventually working for a national banking group and being responsible for giving advice to a varied client base.
In 2007, Nigel took on the role of associate financial adviser in a medium-sized firm of independent financial advisers based in the north-east. From there, he became one of the founding directors of Oracle Financial Planning Limited, before joining Aspire Wealth.
Today, Nigel delivers financial advice to both private and corporate clients, in areas including business protection, retirement planning, at-retirement planning, and investment planning.
During a financial services career spanning more than 30 years, Nigel has gained a wealth of experience and knowledge, enabling him to provide timely and effective advice to SMEs and individuals alike.
Nigel describes the proudest moment of his career: “I had a client that bought a pub for his daughter, whose lifelong ambition was to own and run one. I got a plus-one invitation to the opening night. During the evening, the client came across to my wife and I, and said: ‘You’re married to a knowledgeable man – without him looking after my finances for the past 25 years, I wouldn’t be in the position to do this for my daughter.’”
The things Nigel loves most about his job are:
- Giving advice that directly affects and improves clients’ lives
- Interacting with people on important issues in their lives and finding a working solution
- Seeing a financial plan come to fruition over time.
Nigel enjoys working with anyone with a need for financial advice, as long as they’re open-minded, willing to collaborate on the advice process, and looking for a strong working relationship.
